Carbon Block Filter: A carbon block filter is made of compressed carbon particles. It effectively removes contaminants such as chlorine, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and other impurities, improving the taste and odor of water. Its dense structure also helps in reducing sediments and microbial cysts.

Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) Filter: A GAC filter uses loose granules of activated carbon to absorb impurities from water. It is particularly effective in removing chlorine, organic chemicals, and odors. Due to the larger surface area of the granules, it is suitable for high flow rates but might be less effective in removing smaller particles compared to carbon block filters. Also prevents bacterial growth in rainwater.

Pleated Sediment Filter: A pleated sediment filter is made from a polyester or cellulose material that is folded into pleats. This design increases the surface area, allowing it to capture a larger amount of sediment, dirt, sand, and rust particles. It is reusable after washing, making it cost-effective for sediment filtration.

Spun Sediment Filter: A spun sediment filter is made from a continuous polypropylene fiber that is spun and thermally bonded. It effectively captures and removes sediment, dirt, rust, and other particulates from water. Its gradient density design allows it to trap larger particles on the outer layer and finer particles on the inner layers, providing a longer lifespan and better filtration efficiency. This filter has a single use.

A micron (µm) is a unit of measurement that indicates the size of particles the filter can remove from water. For example, a 5-micron filter can capture and remove particles as small as 5 micrometers in diameter. The smaller the micron rating, the finer the filtration, allowing the filter to remove smaller contaminants from the water.

A micron is measured to one millionth of a meter. (Eg. 1000µm is equal to 1mm)

• .05 µm: This is approximately the size of large viruses such as the poliovirus.
• 1 µm: This is about the size of a typical bacterium, such as Escherichia coli (E. coli).
• 5 µm: This is comparable to the size of mold spore.
• 10 µm: This is about the size of human red blood cells.
• 20 µm: This is roughly the size of the smallest visible particles to the naked eye, such as fine sand particles.
• 50 µm: This is similar in size to human hair, which typically ranges from 50 to 100 micrometers in diameter.
• 100 µm: This is approximately the diameter of a grain of pollen or a piece of fine beach sand.

Please contact us with details and/or photos of the fault as well as your contact details so we can discuss the issue and organise a replacement at our cost, or if you prefer we can provide a full refund. In some cases, we may request the item be returned to us depending on the issue.
